Jesus M. Portillo

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. The first two instruments I learned to play were the Violin and the Piano, and I've been passionately playing them since 2010. Ever since then and every time I touch my instruments today, I get transported to another universe full of sounds that resonate within me and gives me a new understanding no matter how many times I play the same song over and over again.I quickly learned that performing wasn't my virtue; but I wasn't going to let that fact loosen my grasp on the music industry. In 2016, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a professional Piano Technician and multi-faceted Luthier. In late-2024, I began teaching art and music at multiple charter schools within the Oro Grande School District, and alongside the Arts Council of Kern through public workshops and programs dedicated for incarcerated persons.
